April , 1947 Founder Tomihisa Futamura establishes Futamura Chemical Laboratory. Starts production of caramel for coloring soy sauce.
February , 1948 Futamura Chemical Industries Co. established (capital: \800,000). Starts production of caramel and starch syrup.
October , 1950 Futamura Chemical Industries Co., Ltd. established at 2-58, Michishita-cho, Nakamura-ku, Nagoya-shi. Starts production of activated carbon using the chemical activation method.
February , 1952 Gifu Plant established in Minokamo-shi, Gifu Prefecture. Starts production of activated carbon using the chemical activation method.
February , 1955 Construction of Ogaki Plant (cellulose film) starts in Motoima-cho, Ogaki-shi.
Starts production of uncoated cellulose film in July 1955.
